Privacy Policy

How we store and use your personal data:

The JCI UK Foundation, (we) collect personal data as part of the membership application process – e.g. your name, address, telephone number and email address.  We use your personal data only in connection with your membership of the JCI UK Foundation such as circulating newsletters about our activities and to issue invitations to events etc.

Storage of personal data

This information is stored electronically on a single spreadsheet on a cloud-based server which is password protected and can only be accessed by the current Trustees and Clerk to the Trustees.

Paper Foundation membership forms are stored, by default, by the Clerk or the Chair of the Trustees if required. All other paper communications such booking forms for events etc. are stored for the financial year in the same way as outlined above and destroyed securely within three months after the end of each financial year.  All paper documents containing personal data are stored securely on private property.

Confidentiality

All current Trustees have signed an Acceptable Use and Confidentiality agreement which includes keeping passwords protected and their own personal computers and devices secure to prevent inadvertent or deliberate access to any personal data.   Former trustees have been asked to dispose of any electronic copies of personal data and confirm to the clerk that this has been done.

Processing your personal data

We usually email information to our members and we make every effort to hide email addresses from other members by use of the BCC (blind carbon copy) feature available through our email software.

The only other way we process any personal data is by post for those few who are not on email.

We do not share or sell your personal information to any third parties without your express permission.

Social Media

We use social media to promote events and to keep you informed of the activities of the Foundation and the Trustees.  We do not store or process any personal data regarding your social media account(s) and we will rely on the privacy policies of the social media companies and/or your privacy settings when interacting with you online, for example, inviting you to join the closed Facebook group for the Foundation.

Cookies

The site uses non-essential cookies to analyse performance of this website and display content from other content providers such as social media feeds.  These cookies are automatically disabled and you have to ‘ACCEPT’ them for the website to work as expected.   You can enable them at a later date if you wish.  Your web-browser settings can also be configured to ban cookies too giving you a greater level of confidentiality when using the internet.

Cookies collect anonymous information about your usage of the internet and can be used to profile adverts for you.  In some cases Cookie information and other personal information could be cross-referenced and lead to you being identifiable which becomes personal data.

This policy and our practices do not affect your statutory rights.
